Tres Leches Cake

Light,luscious and soaked to perfection,this Tres Leches cake is delicate sweet and melts with every bite.

Ingredients

Cake

  • 240 gr all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 large eggs (separated)
  • 250 gr granulated sugar
  • 120 ml whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Syrup

  • 397 ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 354 ml evaporated milk
  • 160 ml whole milk

Frosting:

  • 480 ml heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tsp powdered sugar
  • Fresh berries
  • (personal preference: strawberries)

Recipe

Cake :

. Preheat oven to 175℃
· Mix flour, salt and baking powder (dry)
· Separate eggs (white and yolks)
. Beat egg whites until fluffy, add 1/4 cup sugar,
beat to stiff peaks
· Beat egg yolks + sugar until thick and pale
. Add milk + vanilla to yolks
. Combine yolks + dry ingredients until smooth (don’t overmix)
. Gently fold in egg whites (in batches)
· Pour into baking dish
· Bake at 170℃ for 25-30mins

Syrup :

  • · Mix milks
    · Once cake slightly cooled,poke holes
    . Pour milks
    . Let cake cool

Frosting

  • In a cold bowl whip cream + sugar
  • Spread whipping cream over the cake
